Shopping List: Week 28

Since it’s the end of the school year and I’ll be bidding Richmond adieu for a while, I have a good many dinner obligations with friends and classmates before I skip town. That means I’m pretty much planning for a full week of breakfast, a half-week of lunches & dinners, and road-food. A $30 budget should get me through just fine.

Here’s what I have planned:

Shopping List: Week 27

This week, Farm to Family (a local farmers market-type operation) has been taunting me with talk of fresh, local strawberries, asparagus, greens, and all sorts of other springtime goodies. They have this fantastic, easy, unfussy thing called a grab-n-go box. Literally a box full of produce. Grab it, pay for it, and go. I decided to go pick one up and plan my meals around the contents of the box. If you’ve been around a while and paid close attention (not sure that’s anyone other than my mom), I did the same exact thing last fall (allll the way back to week 6!) and got some pretty fantastic stuff out of it.

Shopping List: Weeks 25 & 26

Mostly thanks to the GIANT batch of Asian slaw, I’ve had some carry-over into this week, too. Thing is, I have about a week and a half worth of crazy school work ahead of me, so, rather than try to plan for 5 days and have nice even weeks, I’m going to plan through the end of school craziness so I don’t have to think about shopping while I’m finishing all these big projects. Budget-wise, I’m aiming to spend around $50.

Shopping List: Week 24

Obviously (since this is coming to you on Tuesday) this is a short week. I expected last week’s food to take me into this week (which is why I was so excited about that score of a shopping trip), but I didn’t expect it to go all the way to Wednesday (woo!). If I don’t end up spending all $40, I’ll treat myself to something fun next week.

Here’s what I have planned:

Shopping List: Week 23

Happy April! I hope you guys had a lovely weekend. I had a nice little visit from my parents, ate at a few of my favorite places, sat on my butt and watched 40,000+ people do a 10K (next year…), had some ice cream, got some reading done, and did my grocery shopping!

Shopping List: Week 22

Happy Monday! This is an abbreviated week – it’s sandwiched between two weekends of out-of-state visitors (read: lots of going out to eat). My current house guests are out sightseeing, so I’m squeezing in a quick post before I have to head down to campus.

Shopping List: Week 21

I’m back! And thank goodness I had a nice, mostly relaxing break, because the next two months are going to be total madness. I’m talking three long weekends of out-of-town visitors along with a bunch of exams, papers, projects, events… whew! Time to kick it into high gear.

Shopping List: Week 20

I wish I had a good reason to be celebrating my 102nd post rather than my 100th. But I don’t. I just blogged away, completely oblivious to the milestone until it had already passed. Woops. Oh well! Happy 102nd blog post it is!

My list post is coming a little later than usual this week. I had enough carry-over from last week to get me through an extra couple days, so it pushed everything back some.

Shopping List: Week 19

Woah boy – I feel like these numbers are starting to get big! Only a few more weeks and I’m at six months! I even had to start archiving the lists page! Madness.

Yesterday, a dear friend of mine moved away (it’s OK, I now have a new vacation destination that also happens to be an airport hub. And she has a kickass new job, so there’s that). I’m telling you this because that caused my neat and tidy breakfast-lunch-snack-dinner routine to experience a few slight diversions (delicious diversions), which have left me with some leftovers this week.

Shopping List: Week 18

Is it Sunday already? Man. Last week went FAST.

This week, my target budget is $30. That’s because last week I over-spent by about $10, and ended up with a couple days of extra food (I still need to post the last dinner: stuffed chicken with roasted potatoes & broccoli).

So this week, after finishing up leftovers from last week, I’ll be having:
